New to me authors I discovered in 2022

Hey guys! Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is ten new to me authors that I discovered in 2022. These are in no specific order, but Leigh and Lynette are my top two.

  1. Leigh Bardugo
The first book of hers that I read was Shadow and Bone, followed by the rest of the series, and then the Six of Crows duology. While reading these books Leigh quickly became one of my new favorite authors.
  2. Lynette Noni
I first discovered Lynette’s books on Libby, while I was browsing looking for another audiobook. While listening to The Prison Healer series, the books made their way into my heart, and she became one of my favorite authors.
  3. Lauren Shippen
Another author I found on Libby. I listened to her book, The Infinite Noise, and it quickly made its way into my top books of 2022. I am now listening to the second book in this series, A Neon Darkness.
  4. Natasha Ngan
The author of the Girls of Paper and Fire series. I read the first book in this series and really enjoyed it. Although when i finished it did not feel necessary to read the next book right away, I do hope to read the rest of this series soon.
  5. Phil Stamper
Yet another audiobook discovery, I listened to The Gravity of Us, and it was sooo good! I now have a lot of his books on my TBR and am hoping to read some this year!
  6. Emily McKay
Storybound was amazing! I loved this book and I’m really impressed. However I don’t think I’ll be reading anymore of her books for a while, as it looks like most of them are adult romance.
  7. Garth Nix
This is an author I discovered by reading his book The Left-Handed Booksellers of London. This was a great book, and you should definitely give it a try!
  8. Sheela Chari
I had heard that the Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel was good, so when I saw it on the library shelf, I grabbed it. I am excited to read the rest of this series, and maybe more books by this author.
  9. Lance Rubin
I read Lance’s book Crying Laughing and really enjoyed it. I related to some of the emotional struggles the Mc experienced and was very impressed with the book.
  10. David Anthony Durham
I read his book The Shadow Prince and at first wasn’t too impressed, but it picked up near the middle and I really enjoyed it after that.

But of course these aren’t the only new authors from 2022, soooo, here’s a list of the rest of them!
