“On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to deliver some bad news: They’re going to die in less than twenty-four hours. Mateo and Rufus are strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news is there’s an app for that. It’s called Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo meet up for one final epic adventure. To live a lifetime in a single day.”
This book is truly heartbreaking. If you want to cry this is definitely a good book for you. It is packed with emotion, love and friendship, and from the moment you open it you can tell it’s not going to end well. As the name implies. When I read this book, I was afraid to finish it, while at the same time, I just wanted to keep reading. This is definitely a very emotionally heavy book, and I wouldn’t read it if you are depressed. The part that got to me the most was when Mateo died, right after he and Rufus had acknowledged their love for each other. I really wish that they would have kissed sooner, but I guess that was part of what made this book so good. The anticipation.
I am giving this one 5/5 and I’m going to say ages 13+. And just a fair warning there is some sex talk but nothing too explicit.
